Historically, Quintarelli has produced a Recioto only once or twice a decade, when the grapes were of the ultimate quality. This makes these wines incredibly exciting, sought-after and treasured. There are currently no reviews available for the 2004, but previous releases have earned exceptional ratings, including the coveted 3 Glasses (out of 3) from Italy's authoritative publication Gambero Rosso, as well as scores in the 94-97 range from Robert Parker's website. Antonio Galloni awarded the 2001 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico a rating of 95+ points in his March 2014 review, stating that, 'Simply put, there is nothing like a Quintarelli Recioto.'

Tasting Notes
This sweet wine is crafted in a manner similar to Amarone, but the fermentation is stopped to preserve the sweetness. This classic expression comes from one of the most important houses in all of wine. Giuseppe Quintarelli may have passed away in 2012, but the impact of his legacy will reverberate through the cellars of wine lovers for generations to come. This will have touches of bitter chocolate and dried fruit with a long and sensual finish.
