Description
This unique wine blends Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc with Merlot, Gamay and Syrah and was aged for 12 months in French oak. Sporting raspberry, redcurrant, cherry, hickory, smoked meat, vanilla and black pepper, it's made for grilled meats - think Canadian beef steaks or burgers.
Tasting Notes
Layered aromas of wild raspberry, redcurrant, cherry, hickory, smoked meat, vanilla and black pepper. On the palate it's dry showing red fruit and smoky notes at the fore, with brilliant acidity and fine tannins giving delineation and structure. A great food wine, this is especially suited to barbecued rib-eye steaks or ribs, or a charcuterie platter. (VINTAGES panel, June 2012)
