Description
Chasselas is the second-most-planted grape variety in Switzerland, but probably the wine most closely associated with the alpine nation. If you're not into fondue parties, don't worry, it's an excellent white to have around for all kinds of summer refreshment.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw in colour, this 100% Chasselas displays notes of grapefruit, apple, mineral, light flowers and a slight leesy note on the nose. It's dry with a touch of spritz and medium acidity balancing the apple and citrus fruit flavours. A refreshing summer sipper, or serve it alongside grilled chicken, fresh lake trout or pickerel pan-fried in butter, or a selection of semi-firm cheeses. (VINTAGES panel, Nov. 21, 2011)
