Wine has been a part of the landscape of Priorat since at least the 12th century. The region's rocky black slate and quartz soil, known as llicorella, promote low yields, while encouraging great concentration and intensity in both the fruit and the resulting wines. The soil has played a major role in earning Priorat Spain's highest regional designation: DOCa - an honour it shares only with Rioja. This example will offer complex black fruit with red flowers, smoke and spice tones.
