Tasting Notes
The 2007 Chance is an edgy and evolved red wine with mineral tones, dried fruit, fig, wild mushroom and dark tobacco. The wine is very dry in the mouth with dusty tannins on the polished finish. It offers a generous dose of tertiary aromas that underline its ten years of age and the warm growing conditions that Maremma saw in this vintage. But the wine's power and heft has evidently not diminished over this past decade. I am hesitant, however, to assign a long drinking window.
