Description
Elevated to C�tes du Rh�ne-Villages status in 1974, the vineyards of St.-Gervais are situated on sandy and often chalky soils, with red clay featuring on the sites found on the slopes and stonier, gravelly soil on the plateaux. The red wines here are mostly Grenache, with Syrah and Mourv�dre providing the primary support in the blends. Expect a robust, ripe and fruity wine with lovely mouthfeel. This wine won a Gold Medal in 2014 at Vinalies Internationales.

Tasting Notes
Big, charming Grenache-based Rh�ne red with delicious aromas of wild strawberry, mulberry, black plum, smoked meat and licorice. Dry, robust and textured, with gobs of generous fruit. There is excellent co-mingling of fruit, fresh acidity and light tannins on the lingering, spiced finish. Cellar 1-2 years, or savour it tonight with hearty meat dishes such as crown rib roast, beef stew in a red wine sauce, or roasted leg of lamb. (VINTAGES panel, Oct. 2012)
